                                                                         PART-TIME POLICE RECORDS CLERK

The Village of Lombard is seeking a qualified candidate for a Part Time Records Clerk position (27 hours per week) for the Lombard Police Department. Records personnel perform a variety of maintenance, compilation, retrieval and distribution of official police department records in order to provide responsive, courteous and efficient service to police and village personnel and the general public. The primary duties include but are not limited to:

• daily maintenance of the parking adjudication program to include attendance of two monthly parking adjudication hearings

• classifying and coding of case report data to comply with the state mandated Uniform Crime Reporting system (UCR)

• maintain and update reports and records in the department’s record management system, including scanning and archiving case documents

• process subpoenas and notices of trail

• process record checks, expungement orders, FOIA requests

• operate LEADS state records system to enter, modify, update, and retrieve data regarding persons, vehicle and property records

• electronically transmit tickets and complaints to the Circuit Court Clerk

• retrieve, record, summarize, and assist in the preparation of a variety of statistical reports

• respond to and resolve citizen inquires or complaints

Records personnel utilize several computer programs including MS Office and LEADS. This position requires excellent communication and organizational skills. Qualified candidates must possess a high school diploma or equivalent with one to two years of clerical/customer service experience; or any equivalent combination of education, training and experience that provides the requisite knowledge, skills and abilities for this position. Candidates must acquire full LEADS certification and NIMS compliance within 6 months of hiring. Hours for the position are flexible and may include evenings and weekends.                                                                    COMMUNITY DEVELOPMENT INTERN

The Village of Lombard is seeking two (2) Community Development Interns. This position will assist in the review of building permit plans, preparation of documents for internal and general public use, conducting field surveys, and special studies. Other support activities related to Community Development operations may be a part of this internship. The position will provide a broad exposure to development regulations and daily municipal operations. The position requires:

1. The ability to effectively write and speak clearly to staff and the general public.

2. Appropriate interpersonal skills for business and public contact.

3. Competencies in personal computers in a Windows environment and ability to utilize Village software applications.

4. The ability to work independently and in the absence of supervision.

The successful candidate will have good communication skills and possess a valid driver’s license. Completion of core coursework toward a Bachelor or Master’s degree in design, urban planning, or a closely related field is required, or recent graduation (within the past twelve months) of such a program.

The internship would be up to 40 hours a week and would extend through the Summer. The salary would be $11.00/hour, based upon qualifications. The anticipated start date and work hours can be flexible based upon school schedules.

The successful candidate will have good communication skills and possess a valid driver’s license. Completion of core coursework toward a degree in architecture, design, construction management or a closely related field is also required. Competencies in building design are a plus.

                                                                        CODE ENFORCEMENT COORDINATOR

The Village of Lombard is seeking a full-time Code Enforcement Coordinator in our Community Development Department. Essential duties include: , coordinates the daily field and office activities of Code Enforcement Officers and Seasonal Interns and administer activities associated with the Division’s utilization of the Village’s Administrative Adjudication program. The successful candidate will have the ability to read municipal codes and possess good communication and computer skills. The ability to successfully problem solve and collaboratively work with property owners is essential. Requires an Associate’s Degree, plus three to five years of experience in a related field with supervisory and/or code enforcement caseload management experience preferred or any equivalent combination of education, training and experience which provides the requisite knowledge skills and abilities for this job. Must obtain International Code Council certification for “Property Maintenance and Housing Inspector” within one year of employment. This position is covered under a collective bargaining unit agreement. Starting salary range for this position is $51,041-$70,284, with a starting salary of up to $59,974, DOQ. The Village of Lombard is seeking a full-time Human Resources/Payroll Specialist for the Human Resources Department.                                                                                              MAINTENTANCE WORKER I – STREETS

This position performs duties in the sign division of Public Works. Performs semi-skilled tasks and equipment operation work in the repair and maintenance of Village-owned property under the jurisdiction of the Department of Public Works. Work involves responsibility for the safe operation of a variety of specialized equipment used in public works maintenance and repair operations. Must be able to respond to emergency work situations 24 hours a day. Plow streets, parking lots, etc. in assigned areas of town during the snow season. Assist in repairing water main breaks, storm damage, etc. under the guidance of the responsible crew. May operate one or more pieces of equipment such as: large front end loader, back hoe, snow plow, large roller, dump truck, aerial lift, skid loader, vactor, flusher, brush chipper, etc. Make routine field adjustments and repairs to equipment; assist in the maintenance of equipment. Perform daily preventative maintenance and care on assigned equipment. Keep vehicles clean and free of debris. 

Minimum Qualifications: 

Knowledge of safe use of common hand and power tools, general work hazards and safety precautions, and applicable traffic laws and regulations. Be able to work as a member of a team and/or independently. Must have a high school diploma or G.E.D., and ability to earn within (3) three months of date of hire the State of Illinois CDL Class A Driver’s License with Air Brakes and Tanker endorsements.                                                                              Part-time Building Division Representative

The Village of Lombard is seeking a part-time dependable and multi-task oriented person with excellent communication skills to work as a front counter representative for the Community Development Department. Varied responsibilities include: coordinate permit applications and issue building permits; provide information regarding permit applications and department polices and procedures; greet, assist, direct callers and visitors at the Community Development front counter and provide administrative support activities for the department as needed. Requires excellent communication, math, computer, and calculator skills; and the ability to work with the public and other departments/divisions in a fast-paced environment. Word and Excel and data systems entry experience a plus. Must have a high school diploma or equivalent, with three years of secretarial or related field experience. Past experience working in a local government or construction trade/industry desirable. Starting hourly rate is $19.47/hr.
