The VILLAGE OF LOMBARD, ILLINOIS, (population 43,395) located in DuPage County, is currently accepting resumes for the position of part-time Electrical Inspector.  The position reports to the Building Official of the Lombard Community Development Department.

The Electrical Inspector is responsible to inspect electrical installations and control functions and test building structure and systems during construction and to ensure safety and code compliance. The Electrical Inspector is additionally responsible for performing on-site building inspections and reviews and prepares inspection reports.

Applicants should possess at minimum a high school diploma and driver’s license. A four-year Electrical Apprenticeship or any equivalent combination of education, training and experience which provides the requisite knowledge skills and abilities for this job is acceptable. The ability to obtain ICC certification as a Residential electrical and Building Inspector within 12 months of hire is strongly desired. Ability to successfully utilize field tablets with inspections is also desired. Willing to train Electricians without any experience as an Inspector.

Salary is commensurate with knowledge, experience and qualifications. The salary range is $27.61 to $39.82 per hour, with an anticipated starting wage of up to $30.48 per hour DOQ.  The position will be scheduled 25-29 hours a week with the overall number of hours within a calendar not to exceed 1500 annually.
