Youth Leadership

Village of Lombard 2018 Youth Leadership Program is Accepting Applications!

The Village of Lombard would like to invite Lombard based high school students ages 14 - 18, interested in learning about local government or public service to come sign up for the 2018 Youth Leadership Program.

The program will take place over the course over three, 2-hour sessions on Thursday nights at Lombard Village Hall. Each session will include leaders from the Village Manager’s Office, Finance, Community Development, Public Works, Police and Fire Departments who will give brief, interactive presentations about their specific field, give tours, and answer questions from students. In the third and final session, students will get a chance to meet with the Village President and Board of Trustees before attending the regularly scheduled board meeting.

The class size will be kept to 10 or less, to allow students one-on-one attention from Village Hall staff. Staff will also share contact information in order to serve as future mentors as students apply for colleges and eventually transition into careers. *Please note the class size must reach a minimum of 7 students in order to occur.

To apply, please complete the application  and return to Avis Meade, Village of Lombard Communications Coordinator by Monday, January 15, 2018. Applicants chosen for the class will be contacted when their applications are received.
